Maintenance Associate
Job Type: Full-time & Part-time
Ponderay Garden Center (PGC) is looking for an energetic, reliable and driven maintenance associate for our growing and established seasonal business within the community. The ideal candidate must be familiar with and able to support our exceptional team with all aspects of the garden center and retail business which includes: product organization, organization of sales displays, facility maintenance and day to day tasks required to maintain smooth operations. As a maintenance associate, you will be integral to the daily functions of the business while interfacing with general managers, department leads, PGC staff and customers. Compensation will be evaluated and based upon experience. Additional roles include:
Perform day to day facility maintenance.
Reports daily to department leads.
Maintain and ensure efficient and safe work practices daily.
Ability to represent the company in a courteous and professional manner.
Maintains the smooth operation of the day to day functions in the absence of staff or leads.
Perform facility maintenance and support for all departments on an as needed basis.
Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Basic understanding of the landscape and garden industry.
Basic understanding of typical landscape maintenance tasks. Strong understanding of irrigation is preferred but not required.
Good people relationship skills.
Good organization skills.
Ability to work full days outdoors, in a physically demanding position during a variety of weather conditions.
Ability to multi-task.
Self directed.
Ability to work in a team environment and take direction from department leads.
